Why I chose Echelon
For over 10 years, I’ve built businesses across both the UK and Australia. I’ve employed hundreds of people, managed large contracts, built teams and systems, and experienced pretty much every high and low that comes with running a business.
Construction has been a huge part of my life. It has given me an incredibly fulfilling career and allowed me to build a life I’m proud of. I’m extremely fortunate and grateful for the opportunities I’ve had along the way.
But eventually, I realised I wanted something different.
When I first came across Echelon, I didn’t join with the intention of completely changing my career. I came into it like a lot of people do, interested in trading, wanting to learn and curious to see where it could take me. I joined Echelon as a client.
The more involved I became, the more I started to see what was being built. It wasn’t just about trading. It was the people, the community and the potential to build something genuinely substantial for the future.
My partner and I want to start a family, and eventually I had a decision to make. Stay with the career and businesses I’d spent more than a decade building, or back myself and go all in on something I genuinely believed in.
I chose Echelon.
It wasn’t a decision I made lightly. Walking away from something familiar and stepping into a completely different industry is uncomfortable. It’s scary. But I also knew I’d regret it if I didn’t give it everything.
When the opportunity arose to become Commercial Director at Echelon, it felt like a natural opportunity to bring the experience I’d built over the previous decade into a completely different world.
Today, my focus is on growing the business properly, building strong partnerships, creating opportunities, developing systems that can scale and making sure that, as Echelon grows, we never lose what made the community special in the first place.
I’m still on my own journey with trading too. I’m not here pretending I’ve got everything figured out, and I think that’s important.
I know what it feels like to start from scratch, to learn something completely new and to wonder whether you’re making the right decision.
I just decided to back myself.
And that decision has completely changed the direction of my life.
